This weekend its supposed to hit the 100s temperature range here in Las Vegas. Summer time, pool time, golf time, sunburn time....DEHYDRATION time. I'm not a huge fan of the water in Las Vegas by any means. I grew up in a small town in north Idaho and was used to drinking fresh spring water right out of the faucet at home. When I moved to Las Vegas about 8 years ago, I discovered that I was very spoiled in Idaho having that pure, crisp, refreshing water that I took for granted at the time.

Needless to say one of the health and wellness goals I struggle with most is hydration.

On my desk this morning I have a Xenergy + Hydration (caffeine free) and a 72 ounce BPA free water jug. It is going to be a new goal to finish at least one of these every day. I get sooooo bored drinking regular old water (we have Sparkletts here in the office) so I have been experimenting with the flavored enhancers.

The human body is anywhere from 55% to 78% water depending on age, gender and body fat primarily. It is essential to human life (DUH!).

Without proper hydration some of the effects you might feel are fatigue, muscle weakness, poor concentration, headaches, dizziness and/or decreased metabolism.

DECREASED metabolism?!?! I didn't know that last one. I've been in the gym getting in shape for my upcoming wedding. I didn't know not hydrating properly was working against me too!

So do yourself a favor and make an effort to drink more water. You'll feel the difference almost immediately, I know I have.
