DIY GRANOLA

Love granola? Try this recipe to mix up your own with all your favorite ingredients! Just follow the base recipe and add anything from nuts to dried fruit to chocolate.

Ingredients for base
3 cups oats
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup melted coconut oil
1/4 cup maple syrup or honey (we used sugar free maple)
1 egg white




1. Preheat oven to 325
2. Combine dry ingredients (include mix-ins and additional seasonings)
3. Combine coconut oil and maple syrup (include any extracts such as vanilla here)
4. Pour wet over dry and combine well
5. In a separate bowl whisk you egg white until frothy. This will add to that granola crunch
6. Fold frothed egg white into oat mixture
7. Spread your granola on a parchment covered cookie sheet and bake
8. After fifteen minutes, remove from oven and carefully stir oats with a spatula
9. Bake an additional 15 to 20 minutes until crisp and golden brown
10. Let cool, break into chunks and enjoy
